Malaysia will become super motorcycle center


SM Faisal SM Nasimuddin, chairman general operating Naza Group, said the group is discussing with its global partners on the plan fully assembled (CKD) motor vehicles of the international brands in Malaysia.

Speaking to reporters at the opening of Central Asia's biggest Ducati, worth RM 5 million (about USD 1.65 million) in Malaysia, he revealed the Naza is evaluating the market and the best brand but not for most motorcycle brands that corporations are focusing on.

He said: "We are exploring. The team is working very hard and we are to output options."

Naza is a distributor for many well-known motorcycle brand in the world like Harley Davidson, Ducati, Vespa Apriliava.

On the launch customer in 1199 Panigale Ducati models, SM Faisal said to date there are 30 people out of money is placed in advance for this motorcycle supercar.


He said the Ducati motorcycle brand is attracting the attention and demand of Malaysia. So Naza expects to sell 1,000 units from 750 to Ducati this year, 3-fold increase compared to 200 units in 2011.

Only in quarter 1/2012, Naza has recorded sales of 300 Ducati in which 70% is contributed by Ducati 795 vehicle sales.



SM Faisal said Naza was chosen to become Ducati distributors in countries where Ducati have not appointed distributors. The groups also discussed a similar approach with other international brand motorcycle.

Mr. SM Faisal SM Nasimuddin reveal if there is a similar arrangement, the first goal which direction the focus is Naza ASEAN market.
